In 1994, J. Charles Crystalworks was formed as a company that would focus on unique crystal business gifts and awards for the promotional products industry. The company was named for my father who taught me things like the art of glass engraving as well as the art of running a business.
My father recently passed away at the age of 92, and worked five days a week up to the age of 90. My employees referred to him as the "Bossman", though he's hardly what you would have called a bossy kind of guy. Actually he's was pretty cool. Even when I was a kid I thought he was cool, as he was the only parent I knew who liked the Beatles.
Presently we own and occupy a very modern 50,000 square ft. facility in northern Kentucky, just across the river from Cincinnati. Throughout our 18 year history, J. Charles has committed itself to outstanding customer service and the development of crystal products that live up to our by-line, "clearly more imaginative".
Our company has experienced rapid growth in its short history, and was recognized by the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce for being among the area's Emerging 30 businesses. We are also proud recipients of industry awards for our engraving techniques, and several times have been recognized for our outstanding customer service. We are especially proud of being recognized by the prestigious Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation for our support of their organization through the licensed products we produce and market on their behalf.
Of course, all this would not be possible without what I am sure are my company's two greatest assets: awesome employees and awesome customers. J. Charles currently employs 50 of the planet's greatest human beings. Their professionalism and enthusiasm for our mission is more than commendable. They laugh at all of my jokes, no matter how many times I've repeated them, and they're the reason I cannot wait to get to work every morning.
Equally important is our customers. Without your patronage, everything would cease. We are forever grateful to you for our paychecks, our company cookouts, our health insurance, etc, etc. Thank you for all that you do for J. Charles, for the confidence you place in us, and most of all, thank you for your friendship. It is our belief that taking care of you is what makes good thing happen - just another one of those things that I learned from the "Bossman".
